Mills & Reeve LLP – let’s talk about race in the legal sector

Reach Network (race, ethnicity and cultural heritage)

The Mills & Reeve Reach network supports Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff, raises awareness of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic issues and is a platform for wider understanding and promotion of diversity and equality issues.

Diversity and equality is core part of our strategy and how we would like to be defined at Mills & Reeve. The Reach network is open to anyone at the firm that wants to support the aims and objectives of the group.

Our aims

We aim to give an opportunity for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic staff and allies to talk about their experiences and common interests in a safe environment, represent the network across all aspects of the firm, and share best practice across our organisation.

The network is at the heart of our Diversity and Inclusion strategy and works on all aspects of the firm, from how we recruit our staff to how we work with our clients. We work with a variety of communities and organisations to identify inequalities in the business and encourage the recruitment and retention of talented Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic employees.

The Purpose Podcast – True North

In this week’s episode, I am joined by Joe Mills, People, Relationship & Culture Transformer but also known for her work as the Managing Director of the Tree Academy!

Joe came on to the podcast to share all the reasons why she does the job she does everything single day! Her passion for helping others build relationships and guide great culture in businesses echoed through the conversation and I was so excited to share a small part of her story.

Like others who have been on the podcast, Joe had faced many challenges throughout her life and had to find ways to address those mountainous moments in her life. In these moments, she reiterated why changing your environment is one of the most valuable things you can do to help yourself succeed in all areas of your life.

The Purpose of this Podcast is to help individuals who have really struggled to find their way through this pandemic. We draw on our personal stories and accounts to help people understand and realise that they are not alone and that we are all in this together.
