Group Lotus announces a new Global Brand and PR centre structure has been established. The new centre will be headed up by James Andrew, who has been appointed Chief Brand Officer.

Initially with offices in the UK, Netherlands and China, the new centre will oversee the evolution and deployment of the Lotus brand around the world.

The Global Brand & PR Centre will report into Group CEO Mr. Feng Qingfeng, with the regional divisions headed up by Nigel Bromley (UK office – covering UK and RoW regions), Giuseppe Mele (Netherlands office – covering Europe region) and Chen Qi (China office – covering Greater China region).

The newly formed team will embark on establishing systems, processes, teams and facilities around the world, ensuring the most impactful and consistent treatment of the Lotus brand as the business evolves and develops in line with the company’s Vision 80 strategy.

In addition to heading up the Global Brand Centre as Chief Brand Officer, James Andrew will also continue his responsibilities as Executive Director of Communications for Lotus Cars Limited, reporting to Group VP and Managing Director of Lotus Cars, Matt Windle.

Howes Percival has announced nine senior promotions across its Cambridge, Norwich, Leicester and Northampton offices, including three new partners.

Jay Mehta, Rob Starr and Matthew Thompson have been made partners in the firm. Jamie Childs has been promoted to the level of Director. Julia Parsley, Katie Easter, Ben Hancox, Harriet Rogers and Jasmine Mason have been made senior associates.

Jay Mehta – specialism: Planning law (Norwich Office)

Jay supports his clients with the delivery of strategic residential development including large urban extensions and allocations, commercial, agricultural, and renewable energy projects. Recommended in the Legal 500, Jay’s clients include national house builders, promoters, and local planning authorities. He has significant experience in judicial review and planning appeals, with continued success in the High Court, Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court. Jay also advises on matters such as enforcement, certificates of lawfulness, complex section 106 and highways agreements, compulsory purchase, town and village greens, listed buildings consent and permitted development rights.

In March, Jay was listed as the sixth highest rated planning solicitor in the UK in Planning Magazine’s 2021 Planning Law Survey.

Rob Starr – specialism: Regulatory matters (Northampton Office)

Rob has built a formidable reputation advising companies and individuals. He has extensive experience of representing clients under investigation by enforcing authorities including the HSE, CQC, Environment Agency, Police and Fire Authorities. He also appears regularly before the Coroners court in relation to fatal accidents. As a former prosecutor with the Serious Fraud Office, Rob has an in depth understanding of the approach of regulators and has managed large complex cases and undertaken numerous internal investigations into fraud, corruption and whistleblowing allegations.

Matthew Thompson – specialism: Corporate, Commercial and Banking (Northampton Office)

Matthew specialises in a broad range of corporate transactional matters including acquisitions and disposals, mergers, investment and private equity based transactions, together with complex and high value corporate reorganisations and restructurings. He is also experienced in drafting and providing advice on all types of commercial contracts in a variety of sectors. . Matthew joined Howes Percival as a trainee in 2012 before qualifying into the Corporate, Commercial and Banking team and has since built his reputation as a leading corporate lawyer in the Northamptonshire region.

Jamie is experienced in advising on significant, high profile and contentious residential development projects. A recent poll looking at Menopause in the Workplace (commissioned by Koru Kids), found that 18% of women in UK workplaces currently experiencing menopause or perimenopause symptoms were considering leaving their job.

When you consider that women (within the menopausal age range) are the fastest-growing demographic in the workforce – 4 million women aged 45-55 in work (ONS 2021), it is clear that unless businesses don’t start to reflect on how they support their employees then they are at risk of losing a vital part of their workforce which could have been unavoidable.

One of East Anglia’s largest independent recruitment agencies is embarking on a Summer vacation – to help people into work and offer career advice along the way!

To celebrate Norfolk Day, Contract Personnel, who have offices in Norwich, Thetford and Great Yarmouth are launching the ‘A-Z of Norfolk – The Summer Vacation’.

The initiative will see their recruitment experts travelling to different places in Norfolk – using each of the letters of the alphabet!

To carry out their journey across the county, Contract Personnel will be using their brand-new interview job bus – which comes fitted with an area specifically for interviews and registrations.
They are now asking for readers to get in touch with some potential locations to visit – during the Summer Holidays – to offer expert career tips and knowledge to people who may be looking for work.

Sarah Hooper, Director at Contract Personnel, said: “This year, we wanted to celebrate Norfolk Day in style with our biggest expedition yet – in our interview job bus.
